In Jammu & Kashmir, most of the plains and upper reaches in Kashmir Valley including Srinagar city have been witnessing continuous rains since late last night. The upper reaches in most parts of the Central, North & South Kashmir region are also experiencing a mix of rain and light to heavy snowfall. 

The Meteorological Department has forecast a week-long wet spell and also issued a ‘yellow alert’ for today. The Department has forecast intermittent spells of light to



moderate rain and snow at several places across the Kashmir region.

Intermittent rainfall has been recorded over the last three days from Monday this week and the prevailing weather conditions are expected to continue until Sunday, March 16. The intermittent spells of light to moderate rain and snow in the higher reaches are likely to continue until Saturday March 15. From March 17 to 21, the weather is expected to remain generally dry.
