Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today observed that the youth will play a key role in transforming the country from being a developing nation to a developed one by 2047. He was addressing a function at Mavelikkara in Alappuzha district to mark the inauguration of the Vidyadhiraja Vidyapith Sainik School. He said the country is progressing rapidly on the path of self-reliance in every field. New heights are being achieved in sectors like health, communication, industry, transport, and defence. 

He observed that



ignoring the spiritual, academic, and value-based development of children will lead to a dangerous future for the next generation. Later, addressing the valedictory of the Navati celebrations of noted poet and activist Sugathakumari, Rajnath Singh said the country’s development should be inclusive, equitable, and ecologically sustainable. He paid rich tributes to the poet, saying that through her actions and deeds, she was one of those persons who made the world a better place to live in.
