Former Big Boss contestant Vikas Fhatak, popularly known as Hindustani Bhau, has approached the Bombay High Court seeking an FIR against Bollywood director and choreographer Farah Khan for her recent remarks on Holi.

Fhatak's plea, filed by advocate Ali Kaashif Khan, stated that Farah Khan referred to Holi as a "festival for the Chhapris" on the show Celebrity MasterChef. The plea claimed that this statement hurt religious sentiments and led to public outrage, adding that despite complaints to Khar Police Station and senior officials, no FIR had been registered.

The petition argued that the failure to register a case amounts to dereliction of duty by the police. "Despite multiple complaints, no action has been taken," the plea said. "The remarks made on the show are irresponsible and threaten communal harmony," it

added.

The episode with the alleged remark aired on February 20.

Fhatak said that he has approached multiple police stations and higher authorities to file a complaint but has not received a response. However, a report earlier said that Fhatak filed a complaint against Farah Khan at the Khar Police station through his lawyer, Advocate Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh.

The petition calls for immediate FIR registration, disciplinary action against police officials, and legal proceedings under sections 196 (promoting enmity or disharmony between different groups based on religion, race), 299 (deliberate and malicious insult to religious beliefs), 302 (uttering words to wound religious feelings), and 353 (spreading false information or rumours with malicious intent) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.
