Vijayawada: The second phase of the YSRC’s Samajika Sadhikara Bus Yatra starts on Wednesday in three places across three regions -- Ponnur, Hindupur and Guntur.

This phase will commence at Narasannapeta in the Srikakulam district (north zone), Ponnuru in the Guntur district (central zone) and Hindupur in the Sri Satya Sai district (south zone). As advised by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Bus Yatra this time would cover 39 Assembly constituencies.

The first phase of the Bus Yatra was held in 35 constituencies. Ministers, legislators and leaders from SC, ST, BC and minority communities are actively participating in the bus yatra.

Education minister Botsa Satyanarayana who actively participated in the first phase, recently fell ill and underwent a cardiac surgery. He would not participate in the bus yatra for some more time.

The first phase of the Samajika Sadhikara bus yatra lasted 13 days, during which YSRC leaders visited the Assembly constituencies in 23 districts. The present 15-day-long yatra would also emphasize the progress and empowerment of the underprivileged segments under the YSRC rule since

2019.

BC welfare minister Venugopala Krishan, housing minister Jogi Ramesh, municipal administration minister Adimulapu Suresh, deputy chief minister Amzath Basha and other leaders are putting their special weight behind the yatra.

The YSRC ministers claimed that the YSRC government's focus has been on the welfare and development of marginalised communities, with a pledge to eliminate bribery and discrimination. "Over the past four and a half years, AP demonstrated exemplary governance, channelling Rs 2.35 lakh crore through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for welfare and another Rs 2.34 lakh crore through non-DBT modes.

"This cumulative effort, amounting to Rs 4.69 lakh crore in diverse developmental forms, underscores the state's commitment to fostering economic self-sufficiency and uplifting the underprivileged," they claimed.

Phase-II of the Day-1 of Samajika Sadhikara Bus Yatra on Wednesday in Srikakulam district, Narasannapeta AC of North Andhra, in central Andhra’s Guntur district - Ponnuru AC and in south AP’s Sri Sathya Sai district - Hindupuram AC.
