In Rajasthan, 13 more persons tested positive for Zika virus in Jaipur yesterday. The total number of infected patients now rises to 55. Virus has also spread in Sindhi Camp, Vidhya Dhar Nagar, Bainad Road and New Sanganer Road areas of the city as well.
More than 280 teams are conducting a survey of the Zika affected areas. Fogging and other anti-larvae activities are being carried out in the affected areas of the city to prevent the spread of the virus.
According to health officials, 38 of the total
patients treated are fine now. The health department has started focusing more on pregnant women who have not yet completed their first trimester of pregnancy.
The health department along with Jaipur Municipal Corporation are inspecting houses to to find larvae breeding places. Additional Chic secretary Veenu Gupta visited Zika Affected areas yesterday.
The health department appealed the people to keep their houses and water tanks clean for ensuring a mosquito-free environment.
