The 11th Asia Europe meeting (ASEM) summit will sign the Ulaan Baatar declaration today expected to resolve the fight against terrorism. The summit, which comes to an end today at Ulaan Baatar in Mongolia, had long deliberations yesterday on wide ranging issues including terrorism. Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari is also attending the summit which also focused on greater connectivity between Europe and Asia as the theme of the summit is "20 Years of ASEM: Partnership for the Future through Connectivity”.
Briefing media in Ulaan Baatar last evening, Secretary East of Ministry of External Affairs Preeti Saran said most of the countries along with India have expressed their concern against the threat of terrorism. She said,
the summit started in the shadow of Nice terror attack in France and there is no doubt that the terrorism is the main issue to focus.
He was participated in a retreat ceremony early today and closing ceremony of the Asia Europe meeting summit is going on. Ulaan Baatar declaration will be signed later today, which is expected to focus on fight against terrorism and greater connectivity among the Asia and Europe. Vice President will visit Pethub Monastery, where he will unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and also sign the visitors book. Pethub Monastery is also known as Bakula Rinpoche Khiid, which refers to its founder 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpochethe, who was former Indian Ambassader and also a reincarnated lama.
