In West Bengal, 27.87
per cent voting has been recorded in first two hours. Howrah has recorded 20.34
per cent while North 24 Pargans recorded 22.63 per cent. Voting for 49 Assembly
seats began this morning amid stringent security arrangements. The 4th round
polling underway today includes 33 seats of North 24-Parganas and 16 in Howrah
districts. Barring a few reports of forceful prevention of opposition polling
agents at some booths, polling is undergoing peacefully.

voters are enrolled to exercise their franchise through about 12 thousand 500
polling stations to decide the political future of 345 candidates including 40
women. Highest number of candidates, 15, are in the fray in Howrah Uttar while
the lowest, 4 each, are contesting from Dum Dum Uttar, Madhyamgram Haroa,
Minakha and Bashirhat Uttar in North 24 Parganas.
