February 18,2015 (agency) Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) Customs officials held four women passengers for smuggling and seized about four kilograms of gold from their possession on Tuesday morning. In the first case, officials seized 3.32 kg gold bars worth Rs 92 lakh from three women passengers who arrived at the airport from a flight from Dubai, while 800 gram gold bars worth Rs 22 lakh was seized from another woman passenger who arrived by a flight from Bangkok, a Customs official said. In both the



cases, gold bars were hidden in inner garments, he said. On being asked if the four women were likely to be arrested, the official said they have been detained and the further process is still going on. While the official informed that all the four women were detained and investigation is in process. Earlier, in the year 2014, Rajiv Gandhi International airport gold smuggling touched an all time high of nearly half a ton when the police broke a racket of Kasargode smugglers with suitcase hand bars who came via Dubai, Muscat and Kuwait.
