Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday directed the officials to construct a 42-km long bridge with 40 intervals all along the Musi river.The bridge would connect the Vijayawada-Warangal link road on Musi river with Gandipet.
The Chief Minister, who had a survey of outer ring road along with officials, reviewed the progress of the construction of ring road from Shamirpet to Ghatkesar. The officials explained him that the stretch would be completed once the rail over bridge is constructed. They informed him that the entire ORR would be completed by January, next year. The Chief Minister said that the travel of the people would grow once the ORR is completed and its environs should be decorated. He said that Haritha Haram to Hyderabad should be done in a planned manner. He said that trees should be grown along the ORR.
He directed them to protect about 1.5 lakh acres of land in the reserve forest blocks around Hyderabad since there was a danger of it getting occupied. KCR inspected the reserve
forests at Kandlakoya, Medchal, Masid Gadda, Nadargul, Gandiguda, Madannaguda, Turkayamjal, Gurramguda, Srinagar, Mangal Colony, Ambarpet, Hayathngar, Bacharam and Narapalli. He directed the officials to protect the plantations in them and to construct compound walls as well. He said that saplings should be planted in the empty places in reserve forests.
KCR wanted that trees should be grown on either sides of ORR and should be protected. He said that lot of land was available along ORR and it should be used for plantations. The Chief Minister directed the officials to take up plantations at Warangal Highway, Rajiv Rahadari, Medchal Highway, Mumbai Highway, GandiMaisamma Road, Narasapur- Medak road, Vikarabad Highway, Old Mumbai Highway, Chevella road, Narsing Road, Bangalore Highway, Srisailam Road, Sagar Road and Vijayawada road. Stating that the population of Hyderabad was about one crore including those come and go and growing at 10 per cent every year, he said that enough lung space should be created.
