New Delhi, December 4(Agencies): Five children were killed and many injured after a train rammed into their school bus at an unmanned railway crossing in Mau district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday morning.
According to witnesses, the accident took place when the driver tried to cross the tracks just as the Tamsa Express was passing through. The train was heading towards
Varanasi.
Witnesses said the driver was using earphones while he was crossing the tracks, and might not have heard the sound of the approaching train.
He too was reportedly killed in the accident.
"There are 11,000 unmanned railway crossings in the country. We are finding out a way to prevent such accidents," Prabhu said in Lok Sabha.
The minister will visit Mau.
