Dadri: Facing severe criticism over his failure to prevent the lynching of a Muslim man over rumours that his family was eating beef in a village at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh last Monday, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his rhetoric over pink revolution.
Mr. Yadav criticised Mr. Modi in the context of his speeches over beef and cow slaughter in the run-up to the Lok Sabha election.
“These
people want to take up issues such as cow slaughter and beef. They had talked so much about pink revolution earlier. Now, we tell them that today you are in power. So, ban beef export,” the Chief Minister said.
Promising to provide justice in the case, Mr. Yadav said, “A debate is going on in the country about this incident. And I promise you that those who are responsible for the killing will not be spared, howsoever strong they are.”
