Key legislations, including Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Bill, Appropriation Bill and Bankruptcy Bill, are expected to be taken up in the remaining three days of Winter session of Parliament beginning today.
An all-party meet, convened by Rajya Sabha Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari on Friday, had agreed for a passage of six pending legislations in the remaining period of the Session. However, at the meeting, there was no consensus on the Goods and Services Tax bill. The meeting was convened to break the

logjam between treasury and opposition benches in the upper house on several issues.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had also said on Saturday that the government intends to bring important legislative measures on structural reforms during the remaining days of the Winter session. Yesterday, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das said in a tweet that the government will introduce the bankruptcy bill today. The bill, when enacted, will improve ease of doing business in India. Mr Das said, the bill will be the biggest reform after the GST.
