Bengaluru, February 13, 2015 (Agencies) In a tragic mishap, at least 8 passengers have been killed and around 60 injured when a Bengaluru-Ernakulam bound Inter-City Express derailed near Hosur during wees hours today. The mishap took place near Anekal at 7:35 am today.

Around six ambulances from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have rushed to the accident spot. Even local villagers are assisting the rescue team to help the injured.  The mishap occurred after the engine of the train caught fire and all the bogies got derailed.

Railway authorities have rushed rescue teams to the



spot and rescue operation is on. According to sources, many passengers are still trapped in the derailed coaches.

The injured are being rushed to nearby hospitals.
