The Election Commission has announced that biennial elections to six seats of Legislative Council in Jammu and Kashmir will be held on the 17th of next month. Official sources said, three separate elections will be held to fill the six vacancies. One election will be held for two seats from Jammu



province, second for one seat reserved for Poonch and third for three seats from Kashmir province.

Nominations for all six vacancies will open with the issuance of notification on the 22nd of this month. Counting of votes will take place on the day of polling.
