Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Thursday said that they had decided to celebrate the upcoming Telangana State Formation Day in a befitting manner. He said that they were taking a slew of measures to organise the celebrations. As part of the celebration plans, colourful illumination would be taken-up at all heritage and important buildings.
About 100 main junctions in the city will be decorated. Competitions in various fields will be conducted for all self-help groups in the city. Prabhath Bheris would be organised in all 400 Swachh units involving local youth, RWAs and sportsmen. Sahapankthi Bhojanalu have been planned by the officials for all the 400 Swachh Units. A big human chain would be organised from Tank Bund to Necklace Road with all the GHMC staff and the sanitation
workers.
Three tableaux have been prepared on the Swachh Hyderabad theme for display on June 2 at Parade Grounds. Photography competitions on “Hyderabad” will be organised for residents of the city. The first winners will be given Rs. 50,000, the second Rs 25,000, the third Rs 10,000 and the fourth Rs. 5,000 cash award. There will be 20 consolation prizes Rs 1,000.
The officials have also planned to hold 30- second short film and making of three-minute group song competitions on “Swachh Hyderabad.” The prize money for these competitions will range from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,000 for different category of winners. The civic boy has also planned sports competitions for the city youth in collaboration with Olympic Association of Telangana as part of the celebrations.
