Haryana government will bring a bill in the upcoming assembly session to provide reservation to Jats in special backward class category in the state. BJP General Secretary and party state in charge Anil Jain said this yesterday evening after meeting Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with a delegation of Jat leaders in New Delhi.
Cente has set up a committee headed by Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu to look into demand of Jats for reservation in central government jobs. Talking to reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Union Home Minister said, the committee has been asked to submit a comprehensive report to find a solution for this problem. Mr Singh also appealed to the people
of Haryana to help in maintaining peace and order in the state.
However, despite assurance of reservation, the Jat leaders have not announced to call off their agitation yet. Quoting sources that 12 people have been killed and around 150 injured in the violence so far.
The situation is returning to normalcy in some pockets of the state. The agitators have vacated the roads in Gurgaon. The Chandigarh-Shimla highway and Panipat highway have been opened. Delhi-Saharanpur, Yamunanagar-Ambala, Sirsa-Bhatinda rail routes have also been cleared. Besides this there are reports of violence also. Yesterday two persons were killed near Hansi and Munak in clash.
