The BJP's National
Executive passed a political resolution in which it asked Pakistan to take
concrete and credible steps to end terror factories on its soil and the secret
support extended to them by its official agencies like ISI.
It congratulated the Prime Minister for his transformative initiatives last year that, it said, have ushered a new light in the lives of the poor and the downtrodden. Proposed by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the resolution also hit out at the opposition, saying obstruction has become hallmark of opposition while BJP has notched up one electoral victory after another which shows popular support for demonetisation.
On electoral reforms, the executive extended its full support to the Prime Minister's initiative by calling for simultaneous polls to central and state legislatures.Toady, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the valedictory session of BJP's National Executive meet in New Delhi. Mr Modi and party President Amit Shah had jointly inaugurated the 2-day meeting last evening.
The national
executive hailed the Prime
Minister's initiatives of demonetisation and
surgical strikes as bold. The party said, it has snatched the pro-poor plank of
Congress and other parties and the poor are now backing Mr Modi. This was
stated by Mr Shah in his inaugural address.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar gave away the details of the address. Quoting Mr Shah, the Minister said, the outcomes of demonetisation are now visible as it has badly hit black money, fake currency, terror funding, naxal activities and drug dealers. Mr Javadekar said, the country has hailed this as a historic decision which would result in more revenue that will be spent on pro-poor welfare measures.
Mr Shah also said, the surgical strikes carried out by the Army across the LoC were recognised across the world and it reflects government's intention towards zero tolerance against terrorism.
Senior party leaders, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states are taking part in the meet. Earlier in the day, Mr Shah had chaired a meeting of party's national office bearers and discussed a number of issues.
