Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along with the delegation from the State had an exposure visit to Shenzhen High-Tech Industrial Park (SHIP) on Monday during his stay in Shenzhen, as part of his 10-day tour to China.
Earlier the Chief Minister had been to China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and had a meeting with their representatives. Both the groups exchanged ideas on international trade. The Chief Minister briefed them about the Telangana State Industrial Policy and opportunities to invest in Telangana. The (CCPIT) is a trade body of the Chinese Government founded in 1952. It develops business cooperation and exchanges with foreign countries.
The organisation produces economic data, and is involved with diplomacy and trade arbitration issues. During his visit to SHIP, KCR and his team
have seen the premises of ZTE Corporation (Mobile Device Future Concepts) which is a prominent electronic hardware manufacturing company in the park. ZTE Corporation is a Chinese multinational telecommunications equipment and systems company headquartered in Shenzhen.
It operates in three business units - Carrier Networks, Terminals and Telecommunication. The company’s core products are wireless, exchange, access, optical transmission, and data telecommunications gear, mobile phones and telecommunications software. It is one of the top five largest smartphone manufacturers in China and is in the top ten, worldwide. The Chief Minister and representatives of ZTE had discussions on the possibility of establishing similar units in Telangana.
After staying for a day in Shenzhen and after visiting the SHIP, KCR left for Hong Kong.
