Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has called upon top Chinese entrepreneurs and companies to explore possibilities of investing in Telangana. On his third day of China tour, Rao addressed ‘Investment opportunities in Telangana’ meeting jointly organised by CII and Telangana State government in Shanghai. Close to 65 entrepreneurs and top executives attended the programme.
The CM explained details of Telangana’s Single Window Industrial policy, the availability of land bank, hassle-free permissions and approvals and last but not the least government’s strong commitment to ensure zero corruption in the process.
He mentioned about ‘Special Chasing Cell’ in CMO to monitor processing of applications and permission was granted in a stipulated time of 15 days. Many industrialists evinced keen interest and expressed their desire to invest in Telangana.
Earlier, in the presence of KCR, a MoU was signed between Celkon and Makeno companies for investment of 20 million US dollars in Hyderabad
to set up a LED TV unit. Two more Chinese companies specialised in manufacturing cellphone components and headphones have come forward to invest in Hyderabad.
Shanghai Electric Corporation Vice-president Shao Shanghai interacted with the Telangana Chief Minister and expressed interest in setting up a unit in Hyderabad to manufacture high powered pumps and electrical equipment.
Earlier in the day, KCR had a 40-minute meeting with KV Kamath and Xian Zhu, president and vice-president respectively of New Development Bank, Shanghai. They focussed on infrastructure development in developing countries.
The Chief Minister sought their help in funding urban development projects, including waste to energy, irrigation etc. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister and the state delegation accompanying him reached Shanghai from Dalian in a high speed bullet train that travelled at 300 km per hour. Shanghai, on China’s central coast is the country's biggest city and a global financial hub.
