Curfew to continue in Anantnag in J&K

In Jammu & Kashmir, the curfew will continue in Anantnag town while restrictions under Sec 144 will remain in force in Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian districts today. Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Lone told that restrictions will continue in all areas under five old city police stations and areas under Batmaloo police station of uptown Srinagar. 

DIG Police North Kashmir Uttam Chand said, there will be no curfew or restrictions in north Kashmir



districts. The restrictions under Sec 144 will also remain in force in Ganderbal and other central Kashmir areas. 

Meanwhile, the J&K High Court’s Division Bench of Chief Justice, N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Muzaffar Hussain Attar yesterday questioned CRPF’s claims that only trained personnel were using the pellet guns. Hearing a PIL, the Court asked the State government to take a conscious decision on the use of pellet guns in Kashmir.
