Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president Asaduddin Owaisi on Tuesday lashed out at Uttar Pradesh Minority Welfare and Urban Development Minister Azam Khan over his assertion that he would take up the Dadri lynching case to the United Nations, saying it is the country’s internal matter.
“This matter is an internal matter of the nation… This is a fight against the Samajwadi Party and other governments who have failed to fulfil their constitutional duties. The government’s constitutional duty is to protect an individual
irrespective of his religion,” Owaisi told the media here.
“I want to ask Mulayam Singh Yadav if he backs the statement of Azam Khan. If he backs him, then he should ask for imposing the President’s rule in Uttar Pradesh,” he added.
Owaisi further said the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre and the ruling Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh have failed to curb the Sangha Pariwar outfits, who are involved in such incidents.
“But that doesn’t mean that the Samajwadi Party should take this matter to the United Nations,” he added.
