Delhi High Court today set aside Delhi government's order appointing 21 Aam Aadmi Party MLAs as parliamentary secretaries. They were appointed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 13, 2015.
A complaint seeking disqualification of these MLAs is pending before the Election Commission on the grounds that they are
availing the allowances and perks in addition to what they are entitled to as MLAs.
Earlier in June, President Pranab Mukherjee withheld the assent to a Bill passed by the Delhi Government in June 2015 to exempt the post of Parliamentary Secretary from the purview of an office-of-profit with retrospective effect.
