New Delhi, December 22, 2014 (PTI) The Capital woke up to the coldest morning in over half a decade on Monday with temperature plummeting to 4 degrees according to the Met department. With the resulting fog blanketing Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), both air and rail services were hit. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 16 degree Celsius.
According to sources, while at
least 36 flights - both domestic and international - were delayed, as many as 50 trains weren't running on time.
Meanwhile, the biting cold is feared to have claimed the life of a pavement dweller in east Delhi's Dilshad Garden between Sunday evening and Monday morning. The victim is yet to be identified by the police.
Visibility, the Met said, was expected to be affected throughout the day.
