EAM Jaishankar meets speaker of Maldives Parliament Mohamed Nasheed

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met speaker of the Maldives Parliament Mohamed Nasheed in Male on Tuesday. The two leaders discussed with him ways to work together on shared goals. In a tweet after the meeting, Dr Jaishankar said, they will work closely to realise the shared goals of the two



countries. 

Dr Jaishankar is in the Maldives to attend the 4th edition of the Indian Ocean Conference. Mr Nasheed also served as the fourth President of the Maldives from 2008 to 2012. He was the first democratically elected president of the Maldives and one of the founders of the Maldivian Democratic Party.
