External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar yesterday reached Vientiane, Laos for a three days visit to take part in the to participate in the Foreign Ministers’ Meetings under the ASEAN union. Dr Jaishankar said through a social media post that he is looking forward to further deepening India’s ties with ASEAN as India marks a decade of Act East Policy. 

The External Affairs Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his



counterparts from other countries in Vientiane, on the margins of the ASEAN-related meetings. The External Affairs Ministry said that the visit underlines India’s deep engagement and importance to the ASEAN-centred regional architecture along with its strong commitment to ASEAN unity, ASEAN centrality, the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) and taking forward the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
