The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of former Chief Economic Advisor Dr Krishnamurthy Subramanian to the post of Executive Director (India) at the International Monetary Fund. 

He has been appointed to this post for a period



of three years from 1st of November this year. Dr Subramanian will succeed eminent economist Dr Surjit Bhalla who was appointed as the Executive Director for India on the board of the International Monetary Fund in 2019.
