Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has said that the Centre has set a target of providing housing to all by 2022. Participating in a conference in Guwahati yesterday, Mr. Tomar said one crore houses will be constructed by 2019 under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna. 
The minister also emphasized on timely submission of Ultilisation Certificate to avoid delay in releasing funds for various schemes. He said that Prime Minister has given much thrust for the development of the North East



region. Mr.Tomar also urged states to work to achieve the target of making the country open defecation free by 2019.
On the second and final day of the conference today, a cleanliness drive will be held at Kamakhya temple premises. Assam Chief Minister and several Union ministers will take part in the drive. 
Later, Mr.Tomar will hold a meeting with the MPs from North East on development projects. Rural Development Ministers of several states are taking part in the conference.
