Ahmedabad, October 28, 2014 (Agencies) As Nilofar cyclone is expected to make its landfall in Gujarat on October 31, authorities are planning to evacuate people in coastal areas of the state, particularly 59 villages of Abdasa and Lakhpat taluks in Kutch district. The Centre on Monday reviewed relief and rescue operations in the state even as weathermen predicted that the cyclone would not have the ferocity of Hudhud that hit the eastern
coast.
Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth chaired a meeting of the National Crisis Management Committee to review the precautionary relief and rescue measures in the coastal districts of Gujarat ahead of the cyclone. Seth held a video conference with Gujarat Chief Secretary Varesh Sinha to take stock of the steps needed to meet any challenge arising out of the cyclone.
