Gurdwara priest held for drug peddling

LUDHIANA Jun 3, 2015 (Agency) :  Anti-narcotics cell of Ludhiana police arrested a gurdwara priest for drug peddling on Tuesday. About 150gram heroin was recovered from the possession of Gurvel Singh, 32, a resident of Amritsar. He was nabbed at a police check post near civil hospital.In charge of anti-narcotics cell



sub-inspector Harbans Singh said, "The accused is a priest at a gurdwara in Amritsar district. During investigation, he said he would buy heroin from the border areas near Amritsar and sell it in Ludhiana. On Tuesday, too, he was going to supply the drug to his customers near CMC hospital."He was produced in a court and sent to one-day police remand
