Haj volunteers draw will be held today

Hyderabad:   To select Hajj volunteers for the Hajj season of 2015, a draw will be organized at 4 p.m. today at Hajj House. Mr. Syed Omer Jaleel, IAS, Special Secretary, Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Govt. of Telangana, Mr. Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, IPS, Special Secretary and Commissioner of the Dept. of Minorities Welfare, Govt. of A.P. and Mr. Mohammed Jalaluddin Akbar, IFS will be the Chief Guests. Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Special Officer of Telangana State Hajj Committee will preside over the program.

 In all, 162 applications have been received for Hajj



volunteers, out of which 142 candidates were declared eligible. This year, 14 Hajj volunteers will be selected through the draw. They will have to coordinate the Hajj pilgrims of both the States. 4 volunteers from Telangana District, 3 from the city of Hyderabad, 3 from Andhra and four from Rayalaseema region would be selected. From Hajj Committee and Wakf Board, three volunteers will be selected. In this manner,6 volunteers from Hyderabad will be selected. From both the states of Telangana and Andhra pradesh, 5209 Hajj pilgrims will be elected for performing Hajj this year.
