Jammu and Kashmir High Court has directed the State Government to take effective measures to protect school buildings in Kashmir valley.Taking suo moto cognisance of recent incidents of burning of school buildings, a bench of Justices Mohmmad Yaqub Mir and Ali Mohammad Magray yesterday observed that setting school buildings on fire is in fact destroying the knowledge centres of future generation. 20 school buildings have been



destroyed in incidents of arson in Kashmir valley in last one week causing concern among public.
Meanwhile, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu has expressed concern at the burning of schools by miscreants. He told media in New Delhi that this is nothing but perversion, otherwise how can anybody think of setting on fire educational institutions which are imparting education to children.
