India slams Pakistan Foreign Minister for raising Kashmir issue at UNSC

India today termed as frivolous, baseless and politically motivated remarks made by Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutoo Zardari on Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir during a debate ‘Women, Peace and Security’ at the UN Security Council. India's Permanent Representative to the UN Ruchira Kamboj said, it is unworthy to even respond to such malicious and false propaganda. 

Kamboj said, rather, our focus has been and will always be positive and forward looking. She said, the discussion is critically important to strengthen the collective efforts



to accelerate the full implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda. India respects the topic and recognises the importance of time and it’s focus shall remain to topic.

Kamboj said, the cultural ethos of India has taught her people to regard the planet earth as a mother. As a nation with a strong civilisational character rooted in women’s empowerment and equal participation in social and economic life, India strongly believes that the progress of women is the very basis for the empowerment of a nation.
