External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar inaugurated the Indian Embassy Residence Complex in Bangkok along with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Thailand Don Pramudwinai yesterday. Taking to Twitter, Dr Jaishankar congratulated the Ambassador of India in Thailand and her team for the excellent project delivery.
Jaishankar is in Thailand to attend the ninth India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting.
Earlier in the day, he called on Thailand Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and conveyed personal greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Minister also paid a visit to the Temple of Emerald Buddha in Bangkok.
9th India-Thailand Joint Commission Meeting was held in Bangkok yesterday. The Meeting was co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of
Thailand and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
After the meeting, Dr Jaishankar tweeted that, productive conversations were held to further strengthen our all encompassing bilateral relationship. Both sides also discussed advancing contacts in political, economic, security as well as defence, connectivity and health domains.
Dr. Jaishankar also said as Myanmar's neighbours, India and Thailand exchanged views on the situation. He said, both sides also discussed cooperation within the ASEAN and BIMSTEC. Dr Jaishankar said, India and Thailand also shared their perspectives on the Indo-Pacific.
The External Affairs Minister tweeted that agreements signed on cooperation in Health and Broadcasting will take ties forward between the two countries.
