Hyderabad: Islamic State of Iraq and
Syria (ISIS) is a blot on Islam and their terror activities have to be
condemned on all counts, All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party
president Asaduddin Owaisi said here on Monday.
Mr. Owaisi was reacting to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan’s statement that the Paris attack, in which 129 people were killed, is a reaction to the ill-advised action of United States and its allies in Iraq and Syria.
Taking the
argument forward, Mr.
Owaisi said that the ISIS had killed close to 1.5 lakh Muslims and is still
going strong.
However, US military presence in Iraq and Afghanistan had created instability and vacuum leading to the growth of terror outfits, he added. “All Muslim scholars of the Sunni world have issued fatwas against the ISIS. I am not an international terrorism expert, but I feel there is a need to condemn the attacks perpetrated by ISIS,” he said.
