Jammu-Srinagar National Highway blocked after landslide

Jammu: The Amarnath yatra was suspended on Saturday due to closure of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the wake of a landslide triggered by heavy rains in Udhampur district.

“Due to heavy rains, a massive landslide closed the 300-km long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway



at Kheri in Udhampur district late last night,” SSP Traffic National Highway, Sanjay Kotwal said.

The authorities have also suspended the Amarnath yatra from Jammu base camp, he said. The highway is expected to be reopened by this evening, he said.
