In Haryana, blockades due to ongoing Jat agitation at several places have been lifted. Officials said, efforts are on to remove the remaining 449 blockades on roads and rail routes. They said, total 19 people have lost their lives and around 183 injured in the agitation so far. Haryana government has announced full compensation for damage caused to private properties as well as ex-gratia of 10 lakh rupees to the kin of the persons killed in the agitation for reservation. State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said in Chandigarh that no false cases will be registered against anyone. The state government also decided to immediately assess the role of all officers and officials
of both civil and police administration for any act of omission and commission during the agitation. The decisions to this effect were taken in a meeting of the state cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar yesterday.
Earlier, the Haryana government informed the Union government that it has suffered about 20,000 Crore rupees loss due to the agitation in the state and sought financial assistance. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi last evening. Sources said, Mr. Singh briefed the Prime Minister about the situation arising out of Jat agitation and violence in Haryana.
