In the early leads in the counting of
votes for the Bihar assembly polls, Lalu Yadav's sons Tejaswi and Tej Pratap
Yadav were both trailing.
Tejaswi, 26, and his older brother Tej Pratap, 27, trailed in the Raghopur and Mahua assembly constituencies after the first one and half hours of counting of votes.
Lalu Yadav is Nitish Kumar's partner in the Grand Alliance.
Tejaswi and Tej Pratap both debuted in this election. Tejaswi is younger, but is widely seen as Lalu Yadav's political heir.
Along
with their sister Misha Bharti,
Tejaswi and Tej Pratap are the only ones among Lalu Prasad's nine children to
enter politics.
Misa Bharti contested the national election last year but lost.
Lalu Yadav, who is barred from contesting elections after his conviction in a corruption scam, is seen to be banking on his sons, mainly Tejaswi, as his political successors.
Tejaswi once played with Indian Test cricket captain Virat Kohli.
