Indian Parliamentary Delegation led by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla yesterday hold a bilateral meeting with Emirates Senior Minister of Singapore Goh Chok Tong. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Birla said, the relations between India and Singapore are getting strengthened consistently on the foundation of strong people-to-people contacts and mutual interests.
He emphasized that there is a need for constant dialogue between the Parliaments of the two countries to further strengthen the bilateral ties. He said, sharing
best practices of each other's parliaments will help in capacity building of both the legislatures. Mentioning about the close and strong economic-trade relationship between the two countries, Mr. Birla said, FDI and bilateral trade are increasing continuously due to the efforts of both the countries.
He also said, the India-Singapore Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement is an important milestone for the promotion of bilateral business interests.
