'Makar Sankranti' being celebrated in different parts of the country today

The festival of harvest 'Makar Sankranti' is being celebrated in different parts of the country today. This year the festival will be celebrated for two days i.e. today and tomorrow.

In Uttar Pradesh, pilgrims from all over the country are arriving at Sangam in Allahabad to take holy dip. Magh Mela Administration



has made elaborate arrangements for holy bath on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.

Security has been beefed-up in Allahabad in view of recent terror attack in Pathankot. Besides State Police and PAC, teams of Anti-Terrorist Squad, Bomb Disposal Squad and Water Police have been deployed in the Mela Area.
