Mamata Banerjee congratulates Nitish, Lalu

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday congratulated Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prasad Yadav as it was evident around mid-day that the Grand Alliance had won the race after taking a lead in 150-plus seats.

She tweeted: “Congratulations Nitish Kumarji, Laluji & your full team. And all my Bihar brothers & sisters. Victory of tolerance, defeat of



intolerance.”

Her party Trimanool Congress (TMC) then went ahead with its message, underscoring the mood in the party headquarters.

“BJP loses, India saved,” it tweeted.

Ms. Banerjee had, before the third phase of Bihar elections, appealed to the Bihar voters to vote for the Nitish-Lalu alliance.
