On the last leg of his five nation tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Mexico this morning. In a brief but very important stay Mexico city, Mr Modi held restricted and delegation level meetings with President Enrique Pena Nieto. 
Addressing the media, after holding the bilateral talks, the Prime Minister said that the meeting was very productive and conversation was very intimate and deeply stimulating. He thanked the President of Mexico for supporting Indian memberships to the Nuclear Supplier Group. 
He said that both the countries are keen on scaling of the relationship from a privileged partnership to strategic partnership.



Mr. Modi said both the leaders agreed to develop and upgrade their ties towards strategic partnership. The Prime Minister said Mexico is an important partner for India's energy security. 
He added we are now looking to move beyond buyer seller relationship and into a long term partnership. The Prime Minister said Information Technology, Energy, Pharmaceutical and automotive industry are among key growth areas as our commercial linkages.He said ties of business and investment are important drive of our relationship. Besides Mexico and United States, the Prime Minister also visited Afghanistan, Qatar and Switzerland during his five nation tour.
