Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta today on the final day of his 4-nation Africa visit. Mr Modi will begin the day with a wreath laying ceremony at the mausoleum of Jomo Kenyatta, the first President of Kenya in capital Nairobi.
He will reach the state House for a ceremonial welcome which is followed by a restricted meeting with the Kenyan President. Delegation level talks and signing of agreements will take place in the afternoon. After visiting Mozambique, South Africa and Tanzania, Mr Modi reached Nairobi last evening.
Addressing the Indian diaspora, he described terrorism and global warming as two
major challenges facing the world. The Prime Minister said, all forces believing in humanity must come together to defeat terrorism and the sooner they come together, the sooner this menace can be ended.
With regard to global warming, Mr Modi said India can show the way when it comes to mitigating the problem of climate change. He said India is marching towards economic progress despite the global recession and his government is aiming at over 8 per cent growth, up from the current level of 7.6 per cent.
Mr Modi also spoke on the initiatives taken by his government for transforming the lives of the common people and fulfilling their dreams.
