Minister of State for External Affairs, V. Muraleedharan called on Tanzania's President, Hussein Ali Mwinyi in Zanzibar yesterday. He conveyed warm regards of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Tanzanian President. The minister expressed gratitude for President Mwinyi's steadfast support in strengthening India-Zanzibar relations and for his invaluable patronage towards IIT Madras Zanzibar Campus.

Mr. Muraleedharan reached Zanzibar yesterday on an official visit to Tanzania. He paid a visit to IIT Madras Zanzibar Campus and conversed with the students and faculty. The minister expressed confidence that the



Institute will act as a hub for nurturing bright minds, fostering technological innovation and driving regional growth.

During his visit, the Minister is expected hold discussions with Ministers of Tanzania. He will also travel to Dar-es-Salaam for bilateral discussions with the leadership of Tanzania. He will also chair a business meeting along with his Tanzanian counterpart with the objective of increasing bilateral trade and investment flows between the two countries. The Minister of State will also interact with the Indian community in Dar-es-Salaam.
