Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed will be buried in his ancestral south Kashmir town of Bijbehara in Anantnag district, around 48 km south of Srinagar.
According to the party sources, the body of former Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed will be flown to Srinagar from AIIMS in New Delhi and his body is likely to reach around 1 p.m.

party sources said the body will be kept at Srinagar’s official residence situated on Gupkar Road first for the party leaders and supporters to pay homage.
“The Nimaz-i-jinazah will be held at Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium and the burial at ancestral graveyard at Baba Mohalla Bijbehara,” said PDP sources. The state government has announced a three-day state mourning.
