NIA to continue questioning of former Gurdaspur SP Salwinder Singh

The National Investigation Agency, NIA will again question the former Gurdaspur Superintendent of Police Salwinder Singh today in connection with the Pathankot terror attack case. The questioning of the SP at NIA headquarters in New Delhi remained inconclusive yesterday.

NIA teams are also questioning Rajesh Verma, friend of Salwinder Singh and his cook Madan Gopal in Punjab. Gopal will also be called for questioning at NIA headquarters and the date of his questioning will be intimated in due course.

NIA teams are also examining witnesses connected to the case. Mr Singh, along with his friend and cook, were allegedly kidnapped by terrorists on the



intervening night of December 31st and January 1st before they entered the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot. There were contradictions in SP's statement and due to which his statement is being verified again and again. Seven security personnel and six terrorists were killed in the Pathankot attack that started on January 2nd morning.

NIA will also secure Interpol's black corner notice on four dead terrorists in Pathankot to seek information on unidentified bodies. A ten member NIA team continued the search operation in the area where the encounter took place and recovered one AK-47 magazine, a mobile phone and a binocular from the scene of crime.
