National Security Advisor Ajit Doval underscored India’s consistent engagement with both Russia and Ukraine at the highest levels to resolve the crisis and to promote global peace and stability. Participating in the two-day Ukraine peace talks hosted by Saudi Arabia in the coastal city of Jeddah, 

Mr Doval said India has regularly engaged both Russia and Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict at the highest levels and his country pledged to remain an active and willing partner to find a lasting and comprehensive solution to the conflict.  Mr Doval also asked all stakeholders to find a just and enduring solution to the conflict.

Mr Doval also addressed the challenging situation confronting the world and particularly the Global South due to the ongoing conflict.  He said, India’s approach has been and always will be to promote dialogue and diplomacy. This is the only way forward for peace.



Explaining India's commitment to adhere UN charter Mr Doval said  India supports the global order based on principles enshrined in UN Charter and international law. 

Respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity by all states must be upheld without exception. NSA Ajit Doval reiterated that nothing would bring India greater happiness and satisfaction than a peaceful outcome for Ukraine and the wider region. 

NSA Doval emphasised the importance of simultaneously directing efforts on both fronts. He noted that more groundwork is needed to make progress on these critical tasks. 

The meeting, attended by representatives from over 40 countries sought to find a just and enduring resolution to the crisis that has had significant repercussions on the global south, leading to soaring food, fuel, and fertilizer prices.
