Ahead of the visit of
the all-party delegation, clashes and protests intensified across Kashmir on
Wednesday in which one civilian died and at least 100 others were injured.
Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Baseer Khan said a mob of over 900 people attacked an army convoy at Ladoora, Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. “Amid incidents of stone-pelting, some protesters fired at a convoy, which was on its way to Kupwara.The Army fired some rounds in air to disperse the mob.
In the incident, four people were injured, and one of them identified as Danish Manzoor succumbed to injuries,” he said.However, locals said that the protests erupted after security forces denied passage to fruit-laden trucks in the area.

fired at the protesters, which resulted in the death of one person and injured
at least five others. Three of the injured have been referred to Srinagar for
specialised treatment.
With this, the toll in the current unrest which erupted after the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani on July 8 has mounted to 71.
In south Kashmir’s Anantnag and Kulgam districts, at least 52 people were injured during clashes between protesters and security forces.Reports said that over 40 people were injured in clashes that erupted after security forces vandalised the venue of a protest rally in Karshangam village of Anantnag.
There has been a reported surge in the protests and clashes since Monday when the curfew was lifted in most areas of Kashmir after 51 days.
