A Parliamentary committee has summoned senior officials of the Election Commission to discuss issues related to the Electoral Reforms. The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Personnel, Public Grievances, Law and Justice headed by Congress leader Anand Sharma is scheduled to meet on tomorrow over the issue of electoral reforms.

Last week, Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi had held an all party meeting to discuss the issues relating to the reliability of the Electronic Voting Machine and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail and electoral reforms. Mr Zaidi said, all the future elections will mandatorily be held with



VVPATs.

Cabinet approves agreement between India and Tajikistan on mutual assistance in Customs Matters.Union Cabinet has given its approval for signing and ratifying, an agreement between India and Tajikistan on Cooperation and Mutual Assistance in Customs Matters. 

The agreement will help in the availability of relevant information for the prevention and investigation of Customs offences. 

The Cabinet yesterday also gave its approval for the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting.
