New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the youth to follow the footsteps of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam to transform the nation. Addressing a function to mark Dr Kalam's 84th birth anniversary in New Delhi today, Mr Modi said, there is a great scope for innovation in the country which can bring transformation in millions of lives. Talking about Dr Kalam, the Prime Minister said, just after leaving the Presidency, Dr Kalam went to teach in a institution in Chennai.
He said, this can't happen without an
inherent commitment. Mr Modi said, Dr Kalam was always looking for challenges and how to overcome them. Mr Modi also announced that the government has acquired land in Dr Kalam's birth place in Rameswaram to build memorial for the former president.
He said, the memorial will inspire millions of people specially the future generations. On the occasion, the Prime Minister unveiled a statue of the former president and also inaugurated a photo exhibition on the life of Dr Kalam.
