PM Modi asks BJP MPs not to sit on laurels of victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked BJP MPs not to sit on the laurels of victory but reach out to the public with an eye on 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Addressing Parliamentary Party meeting in New Delhi yesterday, Mr Modi asked party leaders to reach out to the youth. 

Setting the tone for the next Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister unveiled a slew of programmes for important events ahead, including over a week-long exercise between the party's foundation day on April 6 and Bhim Rao Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 14.Quoting Mr Modi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar told media after the meeting in New Delhi that the Central schemes and



programmes must reach every citizen of the country. 

Mr Modi said a lot is yet to be done in this regard and youth should be made ambassadors for government’s good work. Prime Minister also asked party leaders to work during the week to give a boost to the use of BHIM app, a digital payment application, by educating the masses about it and helping them download it.

At the meeting, BJP president Amit Shah said people have voted against caste politics and corruption in the Assembly elections. Mr Shah said there was a massive support to the demonetization process started by the government to deal with the black money and corruption.
